Station Rebuilding
The rebuild of Chafford Hundred station, (the 2nd major upgrade
since the station was built in the early 1990s) to improve the passenger
circulating areas and entrance / exit throughput, has now started. The
project, which was initially due to start in March 2005, was delayed awaiting for Network
Rail, the owners of the station, to grant approval to the plans drawn up by c2c.
The work will take roughly 7 months to complete, so works should be complete around
January / February 2006.
Car Parking
Lakeside has agreed to increase the duration when its car parks will be lit
and to extend the opening times of the security doors which provide access from
Lakeside's car parks to the bridge leading into Chafford Hundred station.
From Monday, January 10, Lakeside car park lighting will be switched on and
security doors opened from 6am, Mondays to Fridays, until the last train back to
Chafford Hundred station.
