TV protest on rail link - Evening Echo - 09/02/2005

QUOTE

There were red faces all round when protestors tried to pile into a toilet as part on an onboard train protest.

They ended up flushed with embarrassment - because the loo was out of order and would not open.

And to add insult to injury just three people turned up for the demo, on the London bound commuter train, aimed at showing opposition to plans by c2c to install television screens in carriages on the Southend to Fenchurch St line. Val Heard, an office manager from Leigh, said; "We planned a sit-in toilet protest because that will be the only place we will be able to get a bit of peace and quiet when these TVs come in.

"But the one we planned to use was out of order."
