2010 Fares PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 04 January 2010 21:02

Following on from the news of Oyster cards being able to use on C2C line up to and including Grays. Please see attached link regarding the new fare structure.

The way the fare structure for oyster has been set up there is no longer any cheap day returns.

Example of fares are as follows

The arrival of Oyster means the cheap weekend day-returns within the new zones vanish.
Fares will rise by up to 45% at weekends! For example:
Ockendon to Chafford return: currently £2.20 goes up to £3.20 = 45% increase.
Grays to Chafford return: currently £2.50 goes up to £3.20 = 28% increase.
Grays to Fenchurch St. return: currently £6.40 goes up to £7.80 = 22% increase
This is because Oyster doesn't have weekend fares, just peak & off-peak.
c2c seem to have decided the Oyster fare will be the cheapest available.
Hence the new cheapest weekend prices rise to equal 2 off-peak Oyster single fares.

TRUG - Who we are PDF Print E-mail

The Thurrock Rail Users Group, are the rail passengers’ group for all Thurrock stations. We work closely with the route’s MP’s, Council, Passenger Focus and c2c itself and other organisations to seek improvements in c2c’s rail service so as to meet the needs of the travelling public.

We continue to work for you, monitoring actual and potential developments and pressing for appropriate improvements under all of the obvious – but well worth reminding you here - headings, including timetable / capacity changes; station facilities; fares and ticket issuing; passenger security on stations and on trains; operational matters such as performance, management of disruptions; customer information (real-time and enquiries) and relations (timeliness and quality of replies to letters and e-mail); checking c2c’s own publicity; and engineering (remember the “wrong kind of air pressure changes”?).

We are a non-political organisation who are unfunded and therefore sometimes accept mutual practical support on appropriate issues of common ground with other organisations.
